peace, love & moschino

If Tuesday's post didn't leave you head over heels for Moschino (which is impossible because he is the best), then perhaps his AMAZING window displays will. Impeccably clever, fresh and funny, Franco designed the brand's window displays up until his death in 1994, and his wit, pop, and surrealist approach continue to be the norm for present day Moschino installations. (The torch has been passed to Jo Ann Tan, and although we definitely miss Franco's sharp social commentary, she has been nailing it!)

We'll let the windows do the talking from here on out, but we'd like you to pay special attention to Moschino's theme of question marks, hearts, peace signs and smiley faces--PARTICULARLY PEACE SIGN BABY JESUS BECAUSE OMVG THAT'S INCREDIBLE.

After the opening of the Berlin Wall in November of 1989.

This manger scene tho.

World AIDS Day 1994

A shirt made of condoms and a skirt with a message: "The number of people infected with HIV increases in the world every day. Using condoms means not getting infected. The danger of AIDS is to ignore it exists."

1995 "Save Our Sea," still relevant 20 years later.
