beautiful things from the wondrous land of Valentino
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli (the creative forces behind the House of Valentino) enlisted the talents of 73 year old textile designer, Celia Birtwell (the woman behind Ossie Clark's floral prints in the seventies), and 82 year old Italian pop artist, Giosetta Fioroni, for their latest collection--giving us hope that we still have 50+ years to manage the same achievement! The dream is alive! Their pre-fall 2015 collection debuted last week and we are IN LOVE WITH ALL NINETY-SEVEN PIECES! That's right, 97 pieces of pure dreamboat dreaminess.
Not only are we huge Valentino fans (our blog is named after his pugs for Pete's sake), but this collection beautifully incorporates many of the trends we've been loving this year (seventies, denim, monochrome, art) while still managing to maintain the essence of Valentino style, past and present, in an elegant and totally wearable way. Which takes massive amounts of talent. Brilliant!
